LINET ANDREA

About me

Linet Andrea was born and raised in Kent, the garden of England, amongst the orchards and hops.

When she began seriously drawing at the age of seventeen, she discovered techniques using compressed charcoal.  This medium has become her trademark.  Her work has evolved from paper to drawing directly on wood; the veins of the wood give a unique energy to each piece. Her drawing has been strongly influenced by: CyTwombly, Tapies and Egon Schiele along with Louise Bourgeois and Luc Tuymans.

While earning her fine art degree at Chelsea School of Art in London, Linet discovered the circus and a desire to swing in the air and transcend her physical body.  She went on to study at the National School of France as a trapeze artist.  She continued drawing and selling her working during her time training as a trapeze artist and throughout her career as a performer.

Once settled in Burgundy, France, Linet opened her artist studio and dedicated herself to full time drawing and teaching.  She sells her work directly and has exposed in various countries including the United States, Japan, Sweden, Belgium, Germany and France. Linet created a fourteen part Stations of the Cross for the Heritage Foundation in France, and recently participated in an artist residency in Meknès Morocco with the French Institution.

She has also done extensive graphic work: creating logos with her handwriting, posters, and publicity materials, as well as video projects.
